Join this flotilla in the stunning Sporades islands, a wonderful mix of busy towns, sleepy harbours and deserted islands. The islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonnisos, together with the more sheltered Gulf of Volos, offer excellent sailing off the tourist trail. Fresh sailing winds, unspoilt harbours and beautiful sandy beaches await you. These islands are stunningly beautiful with white sandy beaches, green pine forests and the bluest sea. No wonder the movie makers of "Mamma Mia" chose Skiathos for their film location!
If you have previously sailed in the Ionian and Saronic, come and discover this idyllic sailing area on flotilla. Fresh sailing breezes Force 3-6 offer exciting sailing for more experienced crews who want to discover islands and harbours off the beaten track.
FRIDAY DEPARTURE - 1 WEEK
We don't believe in 'regimented' flotilla sailing. You're free to plot your own course during the day. The flotilla skipper is on hand to give you advice and support - from sorting out a snarled anchor to reserving you a table for dinner on the quayside.
Less experienced skippers will appreciate his help with mooring "stern-to" or "bows-to" on the quayside at the end of an enjoyable afternoon's sail. And if you are an experienced sailor you can choose to leave the flotilla for a few days, joining up for the barbecue evening or other social event.

Sporades Flotilla Sailing Holidays

Included on the Ionian flotilla
- Dinghy & outboard (some electric), services of flotilla staff, end cleaning, bed linen & towels, welcome pack, welcome punch party & one tank of fuel.
- Obligatory Extras: Yacht Security (Compulsory) Non-Returnable Yacht Damage Waiver
- Optional Extras: SUP £150 per week, Wifi £80 (50GB) per booking, Child Safety Netting £140 (up to 40ft), £180 (over 40ft) per booking, Pre-provisioning service €37 + food cost (payable locally).
- Flights to Skiathos
- TUI and Jet2 also have direct flights to Skiathos from London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham (East Midlands) on Fridays for the flotilla.
- Transfers
- Providing the transfer is on a Friday, which is the flotilla start day, the transfer cost is from £70 per person return (which includes Ferry transfer). If you arrive on a different day, we would need to obtain a cost for you.
Level 1
Winds force 2-3 (4-11 Knots)combined with generally shorter distances. Good for beginner or intermediate sailors. Line-of-sight navigation but basic knowledge of charts and ability to plot your position required.
Level 2
Winds force 3-5 (7-21 Knots) with approximately 15-20nm per day. Intermediate experience required. Predominately line of sight navigation but an understanding of how to sail in open water.
Level 3
Winds force 4-6 (11-27 Knots) with mileage of approximately 20nm+ per day. Ideal for experienced skippers looking to venture out to new destinations. Day skipper standard but with experienced crew would be recommended.

Learn to Sail on flotilla in Greece
With sheltered water and straight-forward navigation, the Ionian flotilla in Greece is ideal for beginners who wish to start sailing their own yacht on flotilla. We can offer an instructor on board your flotilla yacht for the week to build your confidence as skipper of your own flotilla yacht. This is ideal for couples and families who would like to join in a flotilla experience but need some instruction. On successful completion of the course you will be able to skipper a yacht within our flotilla under the guidance of our lead crew, practising your new sailing skills. This is not an RYA accredited course. If you would like to gain an RYA qualification then please see our RYA Courses.
These courses are great for families to learn to sail together but remember the instructor will not look after young children so one parent may only get to crew standard. This is also a good "refresher" course if you haven't skippered for a while. While parents refresh their skills, younger children can learn safety onboard and teenagers can become useful crew. You will have to allocate a cabin for the instructor.
Day 1 (Friday) : Loutraki, Skopelos
Embark at Loutraki, a pretty harbour on the island of Skopelos, a short ferry ride away from Skiathos harbour.
Day 2 (Saturday) : Koukounaries (12 nm)
After a morning briefing set sail to the lively island of Skiathos. There is plenty of time to anchor on the fantastic beaches before enjoying our evening punch party and meal together.
Day 3 (Sunday) : Paleo Trikeri (25 nm)
Sail into the gulf of Volos towards the beautiful island of Paleo. Numerous opportunities to explore the gulf and a leisurely swim stop.
Day 4 (Monday) : Amaliapoli (10 nm)
A beautiful seaside village with some great tavernas.
Day 5 (Tuesday) : Oreoi (18 nm)
The town of Oreoi is situated on the island of Evvia. An authentically Greek town with lots of rustic charm.
Day 6 (Wednesday) : Free Sailing Day
We recommend Achillio or back to Amaliapoli. Those looking for a bit more nightlife could head to Skiathos Town.
Day 7 (Thursday) : Loutraki (20 nm)
A swim stop and a leisurely sail back to our base. There will be time for drinks on board before a final night out.
Day 8 (Friday) : Loutraki
Disembark at Loutraki. Two-weekers have independent sailing with rendez-vous at Patitiri on Alonnisos.
Routes and places may vary during the season due to weather conditions & other factors.
