Culture & Nature

Diocletian's Palace was built as a retirement retreat for the Roman emperor Diocletian around 305 AD and has been continuously inhabited ever since — UNESCO-listed since 1979, its cellars, courtyards and colonnades now double as Split's living old town, with several thousand people still living inside the palace walls.

Logistics & Technical

ACI Marina Split, the oldest marina on the Adriatic, has 318 berths taking yachts up to 90m and 5m draft, a short walk along the promenade from Diocletian's Palace. Split is a major Croatian port of entry for customs and immigration formalities.

Practical Info

Currency is the Euro (Croatia adopted the euro in January 2023). Split Airport (SPU) is about 25km/30 minutes from the marina. Split's ferry terminal, right by the Riva, runs regular services to Hvar, Brač and Vis if you want an island day-trip without moving the yacht.
