Culture & Nature

Göcek's real draw is what's around it rather than in the town itself: the Twelve Islands (Oniki Adalar) scattered across the gulf, including Tersane Island — the Ottoman navy's former shipyard, with a 100m-deep channel and the ruins of a Byzantine church — and Cleopatra Bay. It's one of the most sheltered, island-studded cruising grounds on this coast, which is why gulet charters use it as a base almost year-round.

Logistics & Technical

D-Marin Göcek and Skopea Marina between them cover most of the bay's berths, with fuel, technical service and provisioning available at both. Göcek is a registered port of entry/exit, and the harbour master's office handles customs and immigration for yachts arriving from Greek waters.

Practical Info

Dalaman Airport (DLM) is the closest of any base on this stretch of coast, about 30km/30 minutes away. Currency is the Turkish Lira, though marina restaurants are used to euros and cards.

Göcek's gulf is sheltered enough that it's a reliable fallback base in poor weather even outside the main charter season — one reason it stays busy well into autumn.
