Gastronomy & Social Life

Fethiye's harbour-front is lined with restaurants looking out over the bay and the marina, from theatre-view meyhanes in the old town to steakhouses and cafés along the Sahil promenade. A short dolmuş ride away, Çalış Beach adds a laid-back, sunset-facing strip of beach bars.

Culture & Nature

Kayaköy, 8km south, is a hillside ghost village of roughly 500 stone houses abandoned by its Greek Orthodox residents in the 1923 population exchange — now a protected cultural landscape and a stop on the Lycian Way. The rock-cut Amyntas Tomb, carved into the cliff above Fethiye's harbour in the 4th century BC, is one of the best-preserved Lycian tombs on the coast. Twenty minutes further, Ölüdeniz's Blue Lagoon sits inside a national nature reserve.

Logistics & Technical

Ece Saray Marina, in the centre of the bay, has around 420 berths for yachts up to 60m, an 80-ton travel lift, a fuel dock and daily customs clearance (08:00–17:00) — Fethiye is a registered port of entry/exit for yacht formalities. The marina sits at approximately 36°37'N, 29°06'E.

Practical Info

Dalaman Airport (DLM) is about 50km/50 minutes from Fethiye. The bay is well sheltered from the meltemi compared with more exposed Aegean anchorages, which is part of why it's a popular gulet turnaround point. Currency is the Turkish Lira; cards are widely accepted around the marina.

⚓ Captain's Note

Fethiye Bay is one of the most sheltered anchorages on this coast — a good place to hole up if the meltemi is blowing hard further north or west.
