Kekova and the Sunken City: A Must-See Anchorage

Kekova is a stretch of protected coastline near Kaş where an earthquake nearly 2,000 years ago submerged part of the ancient town of Simena. Stone walls, steps and building foundations are still visible beneath the clear water, best seen by gliding slowly along the shoreline by boat — swimming directly over the ruins is prohibited to protect the site.
Above the waterline, the hilltop village of Kaleköy (ancient Simena) is topped by a small Crusader castle with sweeping views over the bay, reachable by a short climb from the shore.
Most weekly cabin charters along the Kemer–Kekova and Fethiye–Kekova routes include an overnight stop here, usually paired with a swim stop at the nearby lagoon.
