Catamaran Cabin Charter: A World of Destinations Beyond the Mediterranean

Catamaran cabin charter uses the same booking model as a gulet cruise — you reserve one cabin, join a fixed weekly departure, and share the boat and crew with other independent guests — but built onto a modern sailing catamaran instead of a traditional wooden gulet. The twin-hull layout gives every cabin its own ensuite bathroom, a stable, wide-beam ride that suits guests wary of a monohull's heel, and a large shared saloon and cockpit at deck level. What really sets this product apart, though, is geography: it is the only cabin charter format in our fleet that leaves the Mediterranean entirely.

Mediterranean Routes

Closer to home, catamaran cabin charter covers Central Dalmatia in Croatia (out of Trogir), the Costa Smeralda and Capri & Amalfi Coast in Italy, Southern and Northern Corsica out of Ajaccio in France, and the Athens Dream Premium and Athens Dream Standard routes in Greece — all recognisable Mediterranean sailing grounds, just experienced on a wider, more contemporary boat.

The Caribbean

The Caribbean is where the catamaran cabin charter range really opens up: the Abaco Cays and Exuma Cays in the Bahamas, the full British Virgin Islands loop out of Tortola, Guadeloupe Island Escape in both Premium and Standard tiers, the Grenadines Explorer and its longer Grenadines Extended Voyage out of Martinique, and St. Martin ↔ St. Barts. Shallow, turquoise water, short hops between islands and dependable trade winds make this region especially forgiving for guests newer to sailing.

The Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia

In the Seychelles, Praslin & Inner Islands runs as a standard week while Silhouette & Inner Islands Grand Voyage extends to ten nights for guests with more time. In Thailand, Koh Samui ↔ Koh Pha Ngan ↔ Koh Tao and Phuket ↔ Andaman Sea Islands cover the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea respectively, with an Andaman Sea Grand Explorer ten-night version out of Phuket for a longer trip through limestone karst scenery and coral reef anchorages.

French Polynesia

The most remote destinations on the list sail out of Raiatea and Tahiti: a four-night Raiatea ↔ Tahaa ↔ Bora Bora Escape and a four-night Rangiroa Atoll loop for shorter trips, alongside full seven-night (Raiatea ↔ Huahine ↔ Bora Bora ↔ Raiatea) and ten-night (Raiatea → Bora Bora → Tahiti and Tahiti → Huahine → Raiatea) itineraries for guests building French Polynesia into a longer trip.

Choosing Between a Gulet and a Catamaran Cabin Charter

If the Turkish or Greek coast is your destination and you want the traditional wooden-boat, Turkish-crew experience, a gulet cabin charter is the more characterful choice. If you are set on a destination outside the Mediterranean, want the extra stability and ensuite-per-cabin layout of a multihull, or are choosing between a four-night taster and a ten-night grand voyage, catamaran cabin charter is usually the only — and the better suited — option. Either way, the core inclusions are the same: crew, meals onboard and fuel for the week, on a fixed departure calendar you can check on each route's page.
