Split – the city that lives in slow motion you’ll soon adapt to. The feeling that every day is a holiday, squares, restaurants and bars crowded with people and, of course, the city promenade “Riva” refreshed by the wind “maestral” in the summer and in the winter bathed in the Mediterranean sun and protected from the cold by its “coat” – the palace.
Sunday / SPLIT – HVAR
Hvar is a city full of historical heritage and with the Europe oldest theater. The city is nestled on the southwestern coastline of the island in a beautiful cove protected by the Pakleni Islands. Today, the town of Hvar with its rich and tempestuous history is one of the most visited locations and must-see destinations on the Adriatic tourist map.
The Hvar Theater, the European oldest theater; the Fortress; the City Loggia; the Cathedral and the Franciscan monastery are just some of the sights that will seduce you with their beauty and take you back in time when Venice, Austrian Empire or Napoleon ruled this area. But the monuments are not the only thing that makes Hvar special. Wednesday / DUBROVNIK – KORČULA
The capital city of the island Korčula is located along the eastern coastline of the island. It is a beautiful example of archaeologically preserved, fortified medieval town. It is built on a small island with a total area of 3 hectares and was only later connected with the island mainland. The island of Korčula is one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic Sea, with abundant vineyards and olive groves. Its southern coast is formed by small beaches and quiet coves.
The old city is surrounded by walls, and the streets are arranged in a herringbone pattern allowing free circulation of air but protecting against strong winds. Korčula is tightly built on a promontory that guards the narrow sound between the island and the mainland. Building outside the walls was forbidden until the 18th century, and the wooden drawbridge was only replaced in 1863. All of Korčula’s narrow streets are stepped with the notable exception of the street running alongside the southeastern wall. The street is called the Street of Thoughts as one did not have to worry about the steps.
