WRECK DIVING

PINAR 1

Pınar-I is a German made ship once used by Turkish Naval Forces as a water boat. She has also been scuttled by BOSAD within the scope of a project for creating artificial reef sites on May 20, 2007, at a spot between Karaada, Delikli Cave and Poyraz Bay. Lying between 18 and 38 meters of depth, this 37-meter ship provides the opportunity of a safe fun dive for scuba divers with various levels of experience. It is possible to visit and explore the deck, bridge and cabins. This wreck is an ideal wreck dive site for PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water divers, and divers with TSSF (CMAS) one-star or higher scuba diver certificates.



















DACOTA C-47

This Dakota C-47, after many years of military use by Turkish Air Forces, has also been donated to BOSAD to be used within the scope of BOSAD Artificial Reef Project. It has been scuttled on June 1, 2008, Cabotage Day, in Karaada Paçoz Bay. It is the third artificial reef in Turkey created by BOSAD.


Today, the plane lies horizontally, parallel to the island, with its nose at 14, right wing at 12, left wing and tail at 24 meters of depth.

This wreck, accessible under all weather conditions, provides an ideal wreck dive site for PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water divers, and divers with TSSF (CMAS) one-star or higher scuba diver certificates.

SG 115

SG 115, after years of service as a Coast Guard boat, has been retired and donated to BOSAD (Bodrum Underwater Association) by the Turkish Coast Guard Command. Within the scope of a project for creating artificial reef sites, she has been scuttled by BOSAD on May 16, 2007, at a spot between Karaada, Feneraltı and Paçoz Bay.


SG 115 now lies on the sea bottom with her bow at 15 meters and her stern at 25 meters depth. This wreck, accessible under all weather conditions, provides an ideal wreck dive site for PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water divers, and divers with TSSF (CMAS) one-star or higher scuba diver certificates.
