Built in Scotland in 1914 M/Y Halas was promptly requisitioned by the British government for the war effort and only arrived in Turkish waters in 1918. Five more years passed before the Allied Headquarters handed it over to its Turkish owners who employed it as a passenger ferry on the Bosphorous for the next 65 years. Bought in 1985 by its present owners, the wessel was totally refurbished over a period of four years and converted into a luxurious floating palace
